The most important Russian holiday is New Year’s Day – January 1st. During the Soviet era, people were not allowed to celebrate Christmas, so New Year’s became the most important holiday. The former Soviet Union covers eight time zones. To put that into perspective, that is roughly the distance between London and San Francisco. In other words, that is equivalent to crossing the Continental United States plus the Atlantic Ocean.

That’s a big piece of real estate – the largest country in the world.

For this reason, it makes sense to focus on a particular area when making your search inquiries.
