The most important Russian holiday is New Year’s Day – January 1st. During the Soviet era, people were not allowed to celebrate Christmas, so New Year’s became the most important holiday. My personal recommendation is that it is always best to begin by writing first. There are a number of reasons for this. First, in a letter you can think about what to say and how to say it. It allows you to spend some time in planning your approach.

Secondly, with writing you can test their resolve. It takes effort to correspond back and forth and those that are not committed will fall by the wayside.

If you do a Search on the Goggle search engine under the Key Words “Russian Brides,” over a million websites are listed. Virtually all of them are in the introduction business. They sell names, addresses and telephone numbers of Russian women seeking Western men.

Many of them provide other services such as email forwarding, translation services, tours, and the procurement of gifts for your prospective woman. Many of them offer bits of advice on letter writing, Russian customs, tips on winning her heart, et cetera.

These sites provide valuable services to those seeking to meet a Russian woman for romance. However, when I was starting out on my path, there was no place I could turn for an objective overview of the entire process.

I had to piece together an approach after looking over hundreds of sites. I’m the type to see a goal to its end and I was successful due to perseverance.

Sending Money To Russian Women

You will get requests for you to send money. If you do not know the women well, or if you do not feel good about it, don’t send money. If money is all she is after, what kind of relationship do you have with her anyway?

Generally speaking, the only money I sent was to people who didn’t ask for it. My future wife wrote to me, after several months of correspondence, that she was having a terrible time.

The company she was working for had not paid her for several months. There was no heat in the building at the end of winter. Her mother was in the hospital. She was upset and depressed.

I sent her two hundred dollars. She wrote back saying she was upset with me. She said she did not write these things to get money from me – only so that I would understand about her life.

I told her I sent the money to her because I wanted to help her. She said she was going to put the money in the bank for when I arrived.

When I arrived she had the money, but she had used a little of it to buy a nice outfit. Every Russian woman I know, who had money sent to them, spent at least some of it for nice clothes.

You may be sending money for her to take English lessons, but I guarantee some of that money will end up hanging in her closet. Don’t fret about it. You have made her very happy. She is only doing it to feel good about herself and to make herself attractive for you.

In short, if you like her and have established a relationship with her, show her you care. Send her presents. Buy her things she can use. Every woman wants you to show her she is special. Don’t be a miser or a fool. Use your judgment.

If you are sending money, send it Western Union.
Do not send money in the mail. It won’t get there. I guarantee it. Send the money to be paid in U.S. currency. U.S. currency is more valuable than local currency and she can convert it into local currency at a better rate than Western Union will give her.

Take care in spelling her name exactly. The Western Union bureaucrats in Russia love to send people away for the slightest reason. You will need to send her the identification number on the wire transfer for her to claim the money.

She will also need to know the exact amount you are sending. Make sure the person receiving the money has proper identification or they won’t give it to them.

One distressing piece of information is that Belarus was ‘taxing’ wire transfers at a rate of 9.5% prior to January 1, 2005. As of January 1, 2005, they are now taxing 100%. What this means is none of the money you wire transfer to a person in Belarus will get to them.

My recommendation is to ask the women you are sending money to for the best way for you to get it to her. She may not know. Talk to the company that is handling your email forwarding for you. They most likely will know what the situation is in that country.

Developing a Strategy for the Russian Tour Social

When you get to the social, the sheer number of women that are there will overwhelm you. You will be like a kid in a candy store. You will wonder where to begin.

If you have a plan before you start, you will be more successful than if you walk in there like a teenager at his first dance.

At the social, time is the most important resource you will have. Your short-term goal is to meet as many women as possible at the social. Do not get cornered by talking to only a few women that you happen to hit it off with.

It’s wonderful when you meet a woman and you both appear to enjoy each other’s company. Make a note of her name and phone number. If you know she is a member of a particular local marriage agency, take a picture of her and they can get in touch with her for you if you have trouble reaching her.

If you could somehow use the rational selection criteria you used in perusing the websites of Russian women looking for Western men -- and you combined that search strategy with the opportunity that the tour presents for you to meet a lot of women at one time -- the situation might be ideal.

How To Avoid Making A Mistake When Choosing A Russian Wife

When she pulls into your driveway, it will be apparent to her that your home is not a Malibu beach house (unless, of course, it is). If you are an average guy with an average income, she will find out within one week of arriving in your country.

Implement Your Plan For the Russian Romance Tour Social

Get lots of rest in the afternoon before the social. It’s going to be a long night. Dress in a sports coat and tie or a business suit. Casual Fridays have not caught on in Russia yet.

Bring pictures of yourself, your family, and photos that show your lifestyle, your home, and the area where you live. The women will love them and they will provide icebreakers in the conversation. They will also feel more comfortable with you.

Have a list of questions that you want to ask them. Don’t be afraid to be direct and to the point. You have minutes, not weeks, to get to know them. Bring a pen and small notebook to write down the names and phone numbers of the women you want to pursue after the social.

Yes, you want to be intuitive. Do you like the way she looks and carries herself? Do you feel comfortable with her? Is she interesting? Do you feel like you want to spend more time with her? Does she feel genuine? Does she seem attracted to you?

If you see the oversexed bombshell that you can’t wait to meet, and she is not on your profile list, go say hello if you are compelled. You don’t have to stay entirely with your profile list.
